Antique Early 20th/C Chinese Mongolian Baotou Blue Wool Throw Mat Saddle Rug

DESCRIPTION:
An antique Chinese Mongolian Baotou blue woolen rug, circa 1900/early 20th century. It has a mirror image design of a censer with burning incense, between a pair of vase, and above a boxed set of books on a stand. Because of the size & the mirror image, it probably serves as due function as throw rug & saddle rug (most likely for donkey).
A small red wax type residual on the back, possibly originally one of those early type PRC China's antique export approval red seal.
SIZE:
Approx. 26.5 by 52 inches
CONDITION:
Numbers of old repairs, all now shown as lighter color due to fading. The largest repair is on one of the corner, about 3 by 4 inches. The next largest repairs are on the solid blue border & one of the vase. Others are much smaller ones scattered here & there.
Appears the repairs are done in different times due to different colors, thus indicate the piece has quite some age.
Small areas of edge worn & became loose threads.
Numbers of small areas of piles & knots were worn off & show the warp & weft, mostly on the back side.
The overall piece shows a different degree of fading due to using different batch of dye lots
Both ends have clear glue at the edge between the rug & the fringe, appears to stabilize the rug to prevent it to fall apart from unweaving of the loose ends.
