Antique Qing Chinese Vest - Red Sleeveless Jacket Silk & Gold Metal Embroidery

Description

Antique 19th century Qing dynasty Chinese embroidered vest / sleeveless jacket made from a dark red-pink silk jacquard. The vest is quite large, which makes me think it could be a men's garment.
I'd say the color could be best described as dark raspberry. I've had a very hard time accurately capturing it in the pictures, the most accurate is the close up of the fabric in the 3rd picture. The other pictures show it as too pink or too light.
The vest is decorated with bands of silk hand embroidered panels. They are embellished with gold colored metal threads using a couching technique. The bands are embroidered with motifs of gourds and flowers. The ribbon trim is made mostly of metal that has been woven with colored silk.
The vest closes at the neckline with three buttons and on the side of the waist with two additional buttons. The buttons are ornate cast brass. There are three different style buttons on this garment, two larger than the others. You can see them in the close up pictures.
Condition:
This vest is in good condition overall with some flaws to note.
-Some minor spots on the raspberry colored fabric. One small light spot on the front near the chest. One darker mark on the front near the waistband, both can be seen in close up pictures.
-Hard to see but the cream silk fabric around the neckline and front is beginning to weaken and separate in some places. The embroidery seems to be holding it together and it's hard to notice without very close inspection. There are some small holes in this cream panel throughout the vest, see close up pictures.
-Some marks and spots on the light blue silk lining.
Across the waist, measured flat: 26 inches. Around the entire waist is 52 inches total.
