    Original Civil War barracks match safe that was patented on December 20, 2864 in New Haven, Connecticut. This little iron match safe were used to hold match in a safe place during the Civil War. This one is solid and measures about 4 inches in length. The patent date on the front is still very readable and the lid opens and closes perfectly. Something you don’t see very often anymore. This one is well preserved and in solid condition.
