Description
Original Civil War Period Confederate Saddlebags Recovered on The Petersburg Battlefield by Famed Civil War collector John Geiselman of Gettysburg. These typical Confederate styled bags are in solid “relic” condition but are complete. They have numerous period repairs and were used as long as possible but they are still attached and in good shape. They will display nicely. These were sold at auction with the rest of Geiselman Gettysburg Collection when he passed years back. These ended up being purchased by a large military dealer in Gettysburg who purchased the majority of the collection and still have their original tag. Rarely do you come across original cavalry saddlebags from a major Civil War battlefield.Note: These bags were heavily used until their usefulness was exhausted. The cavalryman made numerous repairs to keep them serviceable. They are in relic condition.
