Please take note this is a federal mining claim not private property. Mining claims are mineral rights to Government Land and the right to extract precious metals. Mining claims are considered real property and can be bought, sold, leased, willed, transferred, etc. You may stay on your claim in a travel trailer or motorhome while mining your claim. Fixed or attached buildings are not usually permitted unless a bond is posted for the structures on federal mining claims.

Stonehouse Mine
in mining friendly Pershing County, NV in the illustrious Sierra Mining District. The Stonehouse Mine was previously mined for gold and silver and is located in an area of rich hard rock and placer mines within the Sierra District. Nearby mines within close proximity include the Twin Dome Mine, Mayflower, Sweet Mine, Gem Mine and Little Jupiter. All these mines were producing high grade gold and silver in there heyday . The east range is known for some of the richest placer deposits in NV and some phenomenal hard rock mines offering free milling gold still in the vein structure. The mine is named after the old Stonehouse structure that still exists today and was also the site of the Bonnie Briar Post Office. Numerous water sources are prevalent on the claim including a couple springs and an adit full of water. With a little work on Adit #2 you can develop a great gravity flow water source. You will see in the pictures several old concrete foundations and water tanks where the old processing mill used to be on the claim just below the main adit. The main concrete tank is still in good shape and holds several thousand gallons of water. Old remnants of piping are also seen on site. No doubt there was plenty of water to run the mill.
The mine is serviced by a main adit running in a north east direction hosting quartz fissures ranging from a few inches to a couple feet wide carrying free gold and silver.
At our mine just a little over a mile away from the Stonehouse Mining Claim we have had assays of up to 400 ounces per ton in gold. We actively live and work directly next door
. Based on historical averages at neighboring properties this mine should produce on average over an ounce per ton in gold in hand selected ore.
Just a thought, why would the previous operators set up a full scale mill on the claim if there wasn't any gold on the claim, especially during a time where gold was worth well below 50 dollars and ounce. Just some food for thought!
Recent testing of approx. 75 lbs of ore yielded 3 grams of gold. Not too shabby!

More nearby amenities located in close proximity of the claim, 14 miles sotheast is Mill City where you can find awesome food and supplies at the Star Point Trading Post and the TA truck stop which has a small casino/bar, taco bell, laundromat, showers, mechanic shop and much more.
Remember dredging and high banking are legal in NV as well as BLM exploration permits within 30 days allowing for full occupancy on your claim and the use of heavy equipment.

Get off at the Dun Glen exit 25 miles west of Winnemucca from I 80. Turn right from the exit onto Dun Glen Road. Continue on Dun Glen Road for approx. .5 miles and stray to the right at the fork onto Barber Canyon Road. Continue on Barber Canyon Road for 8 miles. Stay right at the next fork traveling on a good 2 track road. Travel for approx. 1.90 miles or until your arrival to the Stonehouse Mine.
