Description
If you have found your way to this listing, you likely know of the USS New Hampshire, and her famous Copper US marked Paul Revere Spikes. I have included some reading for you in the photo's section , for a brief history! This MUSEUM Quality Spike has a Bold US MARK and at 7 inches with the most gorgeous patina is mounter to presentation plaque! With the MOST WONDERFUL PATINA, ranging from (based on lighting conditions ) a rich Brown. Very desirable, and fun! You can take this as the owner into a bullion dealer with a spectrometer, and have them see if it as small trace amounts of GOLD! yes, you heard correct. The Mine where the Revere's obtained the copper to produce sheathing / spikes and all copper Bolts and Nails, was fairly rich in Gold content.I have included some reading material about the spikes in the listing. I do have addition copy to provide with purchase. I once sold one that the small amount in these heavy Copper spikes, we calculated had over 0 in smelt Gold! Gold was 50 at that time! Actually, tomorrow, if this is not sold by then, i will have spectrometer check done on this specimen. If its rich in Gold content you will know , cause i will remove the listing! enjoy , this most interesting collectable, that touches on American history with our founding father's, to Early Naval history , up to Civil war use as a hospital ship during the Civil War off Port Royal SC. Regards DavidP.S i took five sample spikes, including this one, they are approximately 98% pure Copper with traces of iridium and GOLD!
