Mining claims are considered real property and can be bought, sold, leased, willed, transferred, etc. You may stay on your claim in a travel trailer or motor home while mining your claim. Fixed or attached buildings are not usually permitted unless a bond is posted for the structures on federal mining claims.
I know this claim contains good gold because I have dredged a few spots and done a lot of sampling but here's a sample pan when I was staking.

on the West Branch of beautiful
Lights Creek in Plumas County, Ca
. These extremely rich claims are nestled in a beautiful area with an immense amount of mining history just 10 minutes from beautiful
Antelope Lake
. This remote area but accessible claim mainly consist of loggers, ranchers, miner's and fabulous recreation. I personally know a ton of history on Lights Creek and where most of the placer gold is derived from in this drainage, so I can provide the new owner a wealth of excellent information. The 20 acre High Grade Placer claim entails 1000 feet on the west branch of Lights Creek with the High Grade 20.66 acre Lode mining claim covering 1500X600 feet of rich vein system related to the Hydrothermal hard rock mine located on it. Within the stream basin you will find bedrock, pools, gravel bars and benches. Parts of the claim would be perfect for small trommel operations. With dredging hopefully being allowed again soon and this area enduring a large wildfire and massive flooding, gold will be plentiful on the claims. One of the great qualities of these claims is the awesome hydrothermal hard rock mine just above the creek. I opened the portal back up in 2004 and surveyed the mine, collecting samples for assay. The samples turned out amazing, sample 1 had over 6.1 ounces per ton as well as 36 ounces per ton silver, sample 3 had 5.3 ounces per ton and 31 ounces per ton silver. The other two samples were real good as well. The mine had a total length of around 200 feet. I believe there is an upper drift but I never opened it. Looks to be another mine entrance across the creek too. The assays were done by American Assay Labs in Reno, NV. While running a trommel lower on the main stem of Lights Creek we recovered several nice platinum nuggets one of which was about around a 1/2 ounce which is huge for platinum. The High Grade claims also have a real nice campsite with easy access. The claim is accessible by rv's, travel trailers, etc. There are hundreds of miles of Forest Service roads in and around the claims to check out, not to mention numerous lakes and streams to fish. As of now you can high bank, snipe, metal detect, pan, sluice, etc. Plumas National Forest is one of the easier Forests to work in California regarding permitting and larger operations. Plumas County is also mining friendly. This claim is the real deal for either a large operation or just recreational mining, plenty of water, plenty of gold and plenty of fun. Good Luck!

Driving Directions
From Quincy, California go west on highway 70 towards Oroville. When you come to the highway 89 interchange turn right towards Greenville. Before reaching Crescent Mills turn right on 207 towards Taylorsville. Just after passing through Taylorsville turn left at the stop sign at the rodeo arena. Continue for a few miles and turn right on North Arm Road. Stay on North Arm Road for 6.25 miles and go straight onto Diamond Mountain Road. Continue on Diamond Mountain Road for 4.5 miles and look for the campsite on your left. All the roads in this area are well marked, but please don't hesitate to call or email if your having trouble finding the claim. The claim is accessible by two or four wheel drive vehicles, travel trailers, rv's and semi's all most of the year. Feel free to sample as needed.
