INVEST IN MINNESOTA!
MINNESOTA
Minnesota is a state in the upper midwestern region of the United States. It is the 12th largest and the 22nd most populous of the 50 states. Its capital is St. Paul and largest city is Minneapolis. Minnesota's other neighboring states are North and South Dakota to the west, Iowa to the south, a Lake Superior water border with Michigan and land and water border with Wisconsin to the East, and the Canadian provinces of Manitoba and Ontario to the north.
Minnesota was the 32nd state to be admitted to the Union, achieving statehood on May 11th, 1858. Much of what is now Minnesota formed part of the vast French
Louisiana
Territory which was purchases by the United States in 1803.
The geography of Minnesota is highly diverse with prairies in the west now intensively farmed, deciduous forests in the southeast that are partially cleared, farmed and settled, and the less populated North Woods area with forestry, mining, and recreation. Roughly one third of the state is forested and Minnesota is also known as the "Land of 10,000 Lakes" for having 14,000 bodies of fresh water that are at least 10 acres.
As a part of the American Frontier, Minnesota has attracted settlers and homesteaders from across the country and growth was initially centered on timber, agriculture, and railroads. Into the early 20th century, European immigrants from Scandinavia, Germany, and Central Europe arrived in significant numbers. Minnesota went through rapid industrialization and urbanization during the American Progressive Era of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Minnesota's standard of living index is among the highest in the nation and is one of the best educated states as well. It is ranked among the best states in metrics for employment, median income, safety, and governance.
