    Description

This is a nice set of three black Antique Chinese Embroidery Fragments.  These delicate cloth backed embroideries were purchased by my father in the early 1970's in Penang, Malaysia during the period he owned an Antique Shop in Batu Ferringhi.  As an avid collector of Chinese textiles he purchased a number of embroideries from local Antique Shops that primarily specialized in Peranakan and / or local Chinese items.  As stand-alone pieces these small embroideries could be framed with a black background and would show very well. I would conservatively estimate these embroideries date to after the turn of the Century.
